Apple to Release Redesigned Apple Store App With Recommendations

After introducing a beta of the application following its WWDC event in June, Apple has officially released a new Apple TV remote application for select iOS devices.

The free app, which is available on the App Store from today, brings the Siri voice control integral to the functionality of the revamped set-top box.

With the new Apple TV Remote app, users are able to control Siri, and access volume control for TVs that support CEC.

The launch of the app comes amid frustrations with the fragile physical version.

The game also features an array of mini games that make the player wipe email servers and take down Bernie Sanders.

However, there are some things missing.

The App Store now features tabs to highlight popular apps and ones that Apple recommends. But a newly published patent dug up by Patently Apple suggests the Digital Crown might one day appear on the iPad or iPhone too.

When content like movies or music plays, the Remote app features a full “Now Playing” view for control purposes, along with a dedicated Menu button and a Siri button. With Apple TV Remote, you’ll never need to put down your iPhone to enjoy Apple TV. The company is preparing a software update to unlock a new “dark mode” that minimises bright colors to make the system easier on the eyes when the lights are off in a room, the ability to quickly sign into multiple apps using a single cable login, and a smarter version of Siri.
