The agency who has done this is the National Anti-doping Agency (NADA) who is responsible for selecting the players who will going to play wrestling for the Olympics has recently announced that the much-awaited verdict on Narsingh’s doping case.
Narsingh’s lawyer Vidushpat Singhania said there were several mitigating factors that went in his favour. Narsingh was India’s lone medal victor at the 2015 World Wrestling Championships, and that helped him book a place for 2016 Olympic Games. In a first-of-its-kind decision since the agency was set up in 2009, Nada panel ruled that there was no fault or negligence on Narsingh’s part, but that he was a victim of “sabotage”.
WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had also backed Narsingh’s claims of a conspiracy, after his sparring partner and roommate Sandeep Tulsi also tested positive for drugs. If NADA appeals this particular decision, then we will see what to do.
Last month, the Delhi High Court ruled against Kumar, the only Indian athlete to win two individual Olympic medals, clearing the way for Yadav to compete in Rio. Narsingh has already been replaced by Parveen Rana in the Olympic bound squad. “But if he knew he had doped, why would he go for an global competition where there were chances of being tested amidst competitors from 50-odd countries?” the WFI officials asked.
The panel further stated that it is impossible to keep a watch on drinks while playing and is not the athlete’s fault.
NADA panel after studying the wrestler’s case chose to clear him of all the doping charges.
“I always said I have done no wrong, that is why I continued with my training”. He thanked public, media and everyone who supported him and stood by the truth. Indian Olympic Association (IOA) vice-president Tarlochan Singh said that there will be no procedural hurdle for the wrestler as he gears upto participate in the quadrennial extravaganza.

However, India’s wrestling federation (WFI) will now try to reinstate Yadav.
