American Horror Story Season 6 Might Be About The Lost Colony
In the pictures taken on set, there’s a tree next to the farmhouse which has the word “CROATOAN” carved into its side. Thanks to the series of Season 6 trailers released by FX, we knew the upcoming installment was going to be gruesome, but that’s about all we knew…until now!

A few days ago saw a batch of American Horror Story Season 6 teasers released (watch below), which didn’t offer much in regards to the plot of the sixth season. J Abrams like sense of secrecy, makes this season something to truly look forward to for AHS die-hards. The set itself is a colonial farm, and supposedly the cast has been seen in Pilgrim garb.
The “AHS” Season 6 theme was revealed through leaked photos from TMZ, which are available in a post by Twitter handle Facts_AHS, and the word “CROATOAN” is visibly carved into a wooden post on the set, which serves to be a clear giveaway that the “American Horror Story” Season 6 theme has something to do with the Roanoke Colony and all its mysteries.
FX CEO John Landgraf told fans that Season 6 takes place “principally in the present”, and that “two time periods” are featured. the question now is – where will the connection to the present be?
What Does The Word Croatoan Mean?
The name refers to the a tribe that dwelled in North Carolina in the 1590s, whose 117 dwellers suddenly disappeared.
However, American Horror Story is known for jumping all over time and space so inconsistencies are to be expected. Our money is on some kind of witchcraft that ties into American Horror Story: Coven, possibly revolving around a gifted child or even the Antichrist himself, whose legacy continues to thrive centuries after that evil first surfaced. Also, why are there only 10 episodes this year instead of 13?

American Horror Story season six will premiere on September 14. However, it’s likely that American Horror Story will veer away from this in favour of its own unique and undoubtedly more horrific spin on these events.
