Carmelo to continue record Olympic basketball career in Rio

Well, nearly everyone. While on the plane, someone threw on Carlton’s hit song and the USA men’s basketball team was split into factions.

Carmelo Anthony was clearly not in the mood when the men’s basketball team started singing the classic song A Thousand Miles, by Vanessa Carlton, on the plane to Brazil today! Suffice it to say, it was nothing like the original, but what took the cake was fellow team United States of America player Carmelo Anthony’s reaction to the singing duo.

Vanessa Carlton responded with pure understanding, as she too seems to not be a morning person. Perhaps they were imitating a scene from the movie “White Chicks” in which a fictional athlete played by Terry Crews tries to woo his date (Marlon Wayans in disguise) by unexpectedly showing he knows the lyrics.

The team was headed to Houston from Chicago, where they beat Venezuela 80-45 Friday night.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler got his country on with some Luke Bryan: Team USA’s social media for their hang-outs continue to be endlessly entertaining, considerably more so than watching them pound another poor helpless worldwide squad into oblivion.

“I get it”, Carlton tweeted to Anthony.
