NASCAR Pennsylvania 400 moved to Monday

Daly led for 21 laps in search of his first victory after qualifying in the last spot, but he had to pit with six of the 90 laps left. Will there be racing or will weather claim the track again?

Buescher will be chasing David Ragan for that 30th spot over the next five races.

William Byron won his fifth Camping World Truck Series race of the season by capturing the victory Saturday at Pocono Raceway. So after Pocono, Buescher is not technically Chase-eligible yet.

“We’re in the hunt. He’s definitely a step above us”. Great call by my crew chief well wolf than he’s getting the strategy right in knowing that we had a lot of speed.

But whereas A.J. Allmendinger conceded his team wasn’t prepared to compete for a championship when he won his first career Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen International’s road course in 2014 for JTG Daugherty Racing, this felt different. “He’s a pretty sharp cat”.

“So many weird things have happened to us this year – it’s unbelievable and ridiculous”, Truex said. I talked to Bob a little bit this weekend. “I’d like him to be back in the auto”, Gordon said.

Buescher admitted several crew chiefs had the same idea as Osborne. Any driver with a victory and at least in the top-30 in drivers points makes the Chase. Mother Nature can be real nice some times and can be really mean. “If the sun had come out it would have changed our whole day”. But another tire incident on lap 100 sent him into the wall in turn 1 and ended his day. Elliott entered the race 11th in the driver standings and therefore provisionally qualified for the 16-driver playoff. The Hendrick Motorsports driver had results of 21st, 32nd, 31st, 34th and 15th before finishing 33rd on Monday.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne, Greg Biffle and Ryan Newman are the only now winless drivers who have visited Victory Lane at Pocono Raceway – the site of Sunday’s race.

Larson and Dillon resumed their race for the lead shortly before the fog came, but both faded and set the stage for Buescher.

And then there was a caution for six laps caused by precipitation. He compounded matters by speeding off pit road and was assessed a pass-through penalty and fell one lap down. Larson kept his tight lead with a timely block of Dillon just two laps shy of the halfway point.

“We have to cross that bridge when we get there”, Gordon said.

Harvick led until Kyle Larson took over on Lap 67. So we needed a racetrack where we could see everything. “We’ve got the best fans in the sport”.

NASCAR suspended Rodney Childers for an improperly installed lug nut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. “This was our first chance to really take a look mid-season, get the cars exactly as they were on the race track, take them from here, and then perform the analysis post-race”.

When the Pocono 400 takes the green flag, Martin Truex Jr. will start on the pole with fellow-Toyota driver Carl Edwards alongside on the front row. The field had just pitted for a competition caution.

Others at the track tell us they were impressed by all the work the raceway put into making sure fans got a show. The cars never made it to the track, although driver introductions were held. Will Truex be able to win this time?

Gordon is a master of Pocono and is equipped with a team that knows how to win there, just ask Dale Jr.

Logano dominated last year’s August race before running out of fuel with three laps remaining. “The reason you kept cars out on the track under caution was to see if the fog was going to roll through, and if you red-flagged the race and the fog had lifted, we’ve got a long delay to get back, and we didn’t have that many laps to go”. No reports of weepers – water gurgling from under the racing surface – were reported at the beginning of the race after occurring Friday. Only five of the 77 races all-time (6.4 percent) have been won from outside a top-20 start position.
