Ringing Bells claims to deliver 65000 more Rs 251 smartphones

Mobile handset company Ringing Bells is claiming they it has started delivering 65,000 handsets of world’s cheapest smartphone which are prized at rs 251. In a statement the company that said after the delivery of 65,000 units, total delivery of Freedom 251 across the country will be 70,000. “It gives us vast pleasure when we see the satisfied reactions of people who got more than they wished for in terms of quality of our low-priced product”, the company spokesperson said.

The company has already started deliveries with states such as West Bengal, Haryana, Himachal, Bihar, Uttarakhand, New Delhi, Punjab, J&K, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. “We wish to fulfill their dreams soon”, Ringing Bells spokesperson said.

According to a recent post on The Indian Express, Ringing Bells has stated that smartphone units are being dispatched to people on a lottery basis. The company had received more than seven crore registrations before the payment gateway crashed.

The Freedom 251 phone had received registrations of around 7.5 crores but the company said that it would only be able to deliver 2.5 lakh phones. It is powered by a 1.3 Ghz quad-core processor, coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage space (expandable up to 32GB).

The company has offered an 8MP primary camera with flash, a 3.2MP front camera for selfie and a 1,800 mAh battery.
