Here’s a quick take on the newest piece of San Diego’s rebuilding project.

Jays starter Marcus Stroman gave up four runs on seven hits through 6.2 innings for a no decision with Jess Chavez allowing two in the 9th only to get the win wen Toronto scored three in the bottom of the 12th to make him the victor.

Rosales homered to left-centre field after a hit by pitch to Wallace to give the Padres a 2-0 lead in the third, and sloppy defence gave way to two more San Diego runs in the fourth.

Dickerson’s blast gave the Padres a home run in 24 straight games, the longest streak since 2002, when the Rangers hit a home run in a record 27 straight games. He’s hit three game-ending home runs. “I’d say it was probably three, four, five feet (outside of the foul pole), something like that”. “That’s just kind of how it’s been since I’ve been here”. “My body feels great so there’s no reason to believe I can’t repeat what I’ve done over the last couple of years”.

“We’re looking at what we’re going to do in the future”, Padres manager Andy Green said. “He put it all aside, stepped up and pitched a big game. That’s what he’s going to be doing the rest of the season”.

Villanueva was replaced by Clemens to face Jose Bautista, who drew a walk to score Pillar. Toronto also tied the game in the seventh inning, using just one hit – one that did not leave the infield from Travis – two walks and two wild pitches. The Blue Jays hand the ball to Marco Estrada who sees San Diego for the first time since 2013. A curveball bounced and got away from Padres catcher Derek Norris, and Travis scooted home to score the winning run, diving head first for the plate.

“I thought the outing was very good”, Gibbons said. “I was praying for one in the dirt”. We took a look at his absurd offensive outburst last week.

Upton is expected to start in right field Wednesday afternoon for the Toronto Blue Jays against the San Diego Padres with Jose Bautista, just coming off a toe injury, possibly starting at DH.

Travis trickled an infield single to third and Ezequiel Carrera hit an RBI single to right.

The Blue Jays announced after the game that they had traded reliever Drew Storen and cash considerations to the Seattle Mariners for reliever Joaquin Benoit.

The Blue Jays and Padres have played extra innings three times in their past five meetings. Carrasco threw six scoreless innings and only allowed one hit in an 11-4 victory over Kansas City in his last start. He was having a resurgent season with the Padres, batting.

Melvin Upton Jr. got his first start as a Blue Jay in Saunders’ place, singling and scoring in a 1-for-4 day.

The Padres will counter with right-hander Luis Perdomo (4-4, 6.93 ERA), who has never faced the Blue Jays before.

The knuckleballer is 0-3 in his past three starts and has allowed six home runs in that span.

Devon Travis scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 12th inning, as the Toronto Blue Jays came from behind to beat the San Diego Padres 7-6. Estrada (back) was on the disabled list from July 3 to July 21. Dickey has lost his past two starts.
