JK Rowling says Harry Potter’s story is “done” after The Cursed Child
While the play and book may be getting called the eighth installment in the Harry Potter series, this really is the final time that the character will be the focus of a book moving forward. Rowling elaborated a bit further on her decision saying, “This is the next generation, you know”.

“Honestly, I just have to calm down, go home and read it and then I can go full insane and go and discuss it with fellow Potterheads and go full Harry Potter”, said Harry Potter fan Christine Tenchava.
For one thing, most people were pretty sure the heroic story of Harry was over when he vanquished Voldemort at the end of the “Deathly Hallows” book.
JK Rowling announces the end of stories centering on the Boy Who Lived. This book picks up where the seventh book left off and early reviews suggest that Rowling has a victor on her hands yet again!
“[The play] chimed perfectly with the material I had about the next generation and I could see it would work perfectly”, J.K. Rowling added. Twitter was full of excited posts all of Sunday (July 31) with readers from across the world posting selfies proudly holding the latest edition of the Harry Potter series.
Jack Thorne, John Tiffany and Sonia Friedman wrote the script for “Cursed Child”, based on Rowling’s story which focuses on Harry, Hermione, and Ron, along with Harry and Ginny’s son, Albus Severus Potter. I didn’t expect, for a midnight event, for there to be as many young Harry Potters walking around as there were.
Fans who aren’t able to make it across the pond for the production can still be a part of the magic by purchasing the script-book, that was awarded ** out of four stars.

“When I heard the new book was coming out, I went completely ballistic”. In London, the play is already sold out through May.
