Indians acquire reliever Miller from Yankees
While it would appear that this would mean the Yankees had given up on the 2016 season, that may not be the case.

With just two moves, the Yankees have quickly rebuilt their farm system from the ground up, leaving them with a rich collection of talent up and down the minor leagues. Milwaukee general manager David Stearns says the Brewers will move on after Lucroy refused to waive the no-trade provision in his contract.
What made it sting a little more was that Miller took less to sign with the Yankees because that’s where he wanted to be. They won’t be dealt with immediately, but their time in NY is running short.
Those “No Runs DMC” T-shirts had already landed in the bargain bin after flame-thrower Aroldis Chapman was traded to the Cubs for four prospects last Monday.
The Indians sent four minor leaguers, including highly touted outfielder Clint Frazier, to NY for the 31-year-old Miller, who is expected to arrive in Cleveland on Sunday night and could be ready to join the bullpen when the club opens a series against Minnesota.
The two players Yankee fans should be salivating over in this deal are outfielder Clint Frazier and pitcher Justus Sheffield.
“I was very surprised”, said Betances, who learned of the trade via social media at around 9:30 Sunday morning. I think I’ve been pretty consistent with the Yankees and hopefully that has shown and I’ll just be the same way here – however I can help the team. “I’m not entirely shocked”.
The rumors are also teeming with big names getting traded and transactions being finalized.
Earlier this season, the Yankees were touted to have a lethal bullpen with Betances, Miller, and Chapman.
“It’s not really rocket science”, he said. “For me personally, it’s the first time I’ve been involved in the Subway Series”. It was a good experience. They are 5-4 vs. Cleveland this year. As the Yankees try to go young, their focus will be on trying to find productive, relatively affordable players to fill the big league roster while waiting for prospects to develop. Good for the Tribe or did they give up too much? “We’re sitting here at.500”. Cashman said we could see the 24-year-old at the major league level as soon as this season. Everybody gets along. I’m excited to play for a team that has a city behind them and people are excited to watch important baseball games. And with the clock ticking before Monday’s 4 p.m. trade deadline, Cashman still has plenty of time to add more.
“It’s a sign that we aren’t happy losing”, Coppolella said. I don’t view it as that, and they better not view it in that room as that. And if you don’t think other teams wanted him, you’re insane.
The Indians’ interest in Beltran has been known since the trade deadline talks began heating up, and those fires are apparently still burning, as ESPN’s Buster Olney tweeted last night that the Tribe are one of the teams still poking around for a potential trade. “I had no control over it, so, just go with the flow”.
Cleveland had been interested in Miller for weeks, but the club was reluctant to part with any of its top prospects, especially Frazier, a 21-year-old who can hit with power and was recently promoted to Triple-A Columbus.
“We’re trying to get back to a situation where we can build an uber-team and a sustainable one”.
We’ll see if any other big trades go down today.
That’s the grand scheme of it all. Frazier is a good fielder, able to cover center but he could find himself in one of the corners.

“A lot of guys have talked about how awesome it is to see kind of all of NY come together, but it’ll be a good opportunity for us to hopefully get some wins and get back on the road and keep grinding it out”.
