Netflix releases three new trailers for ‘Marvels’ series
Debuting on September 30, 2016, the first season of Luke Cage will see the reluctant hero taking on Cornell Stokes, the drug kingpin known as Cottonmouth in the comics. While the studios have not announced the official premiere date for “Jessica Jones” season 2, the characters’ fate and involvement have been teased in the first trailer for “Defenders”.

Marvel & Netflix have enjoyed a great partnership over the past year and the Marvel Television panel at San Diego Comic-Con definitely celebrated that by throwing down announcements, brand-new teasers and more! The Defenders is the Avengers of the Marvel TV Universe, as it brings together the lead characters from all of the individual Netflix shows for one miniseries event.
“We don’t shy away from the fact that Luke Cage is one of Marvel’s first black superheroes”, said executive producer Cheo Hodari Coker. The series also stars Mahershala Ali as Cornell Stokes, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Theo Rossi as Shades, Frank Whaley as Scarfe, and Simone Missick as Misty Knight. Like with the upcoming series Luke Cage and Iron Fist, they did so with a trailer.
The set of Marvel/Netflix Comic-Con trailers was rounded out by a teaser for The Defenders.

Marvel’s Iron Fist will chronicle Danny’s martial arts training and the mystical power he inherits, which allows him to channel his chi into his fist and employ super-human strength. Apart from the above teasers, a teaser trailer of “Luke Cage” and “Iron Fist” was also launched. It’s possible he looks that way because he’s just escaped from an asylum of some sort, as we see him struggling in a restraint-bed in the next shot.
