The Late Show host has been challenged by Comedy Central owner Viacom’s lawyers for using the “character” Stephen Colbert from its Colbert Report on his new show.

Last Night On provides viewers with the guest lists for late-night television, including shows like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He did a ton of skits that skewered the Republicans, even Melania Trump. Trump’s campaign later begged the GOP for help. As Ghazala Khan later explained, she was too grief-stricken to speak from the DNC stage and instead chose to stand stoically by her husband’s side. He tried to imply that somehow she wasn’t allowed to because she’s Muslim.
No “werd” yet on whether Colbert will continue to make appearances as Colbert’s twin cousin.
“Now, an ordinary candidate, when faced with near-universal condemnation, would stop there”, Colbert continued.
“Doctor says I have to wear this until the election’s over so I don’t claw my eyes out”, joked Colbert.
The screen next to Colbert simply read: “D-Bag”.
But evidently it takes more than a cease and desist letter to intimidate Colbert. “It’s worked until now”, Colbert claimed. Charlamagne went further and compared Trump trying to convince America he would be a good president to if Kim Kardashian tried to convince everyone she can play basketball better than LeBron James. For years, he made his living playing a fake host, but even then we recognized the performer’s modesty, graciousness and decency beneath the character’s bloviating exterior.

Stephen Colbert has been in full stride during both political conventions this month, bringing back the political satire he was known for during his time on The Colbert Report. “The next awful thing always seems to fix the previous bad thing”. But as Colbert noted, Trump backtracked from his previous statement in an interview on Fox News, with the real estate mogul saying it was a sarcastic comment. However, if Trump wants everyone to forget about what he said to Khizr Khan, he has to say something “really outrageous” given that Khan has become a superstar. Trump’s response to Khan garnered a lot of controversy since the first thing he focused on was the fact that his wife remained silent, and said that he “has made a lot of sacrifices” while describing his success up until this point.
