That’s a good indication that the game industry is in a healthy state, as the event is one of the largest industry shows in the world. Even the exhibition complex was much larger this time around, with 193K square meters against last year’s 163.5K, and the Gamescom city festival in the town centre also got 150K visitors in 2015, 20K more than 2014.

“The growth in the number of visitors and exhibitors and the expanded exhibition surface combined with the measures to improve the quality of the event are important components for the permanent and sustainable success of Gamescom”.
Of that figure, 33,200 were trade visitors – an increase of five per cent year-on-year. We’re very satisfied of Gamescom 2015 since we’ve been able to offer once again an global business venue for exhibitors and a unique gaming event for visitors.
Every year it feels like Gamescom is filled to capacity come the days it opens its doors to the public, yet somehow the minds behind the German convention manage to squeeze more bodies through the doors every year. It is a reflection of the increasing significance of computer and video games in our society.
The “Most successful title” award went to EA’s Star Wars Battlefront which is due to launch later this year.

Gamescom 2016 has already been dated for August 17th to the 21st at the Koelnmesse in Cologne. Virtual reality and esports events were big at the show.
