New York Yankees adds bullpen help

Call it an All-Star split doubleheader.

Less than a week after trading closer Aroldis Chapman to the Chicago Cubs, the Yankees on Sunday shipped All-Star reliever Andrew Miller to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for four prospects, revealing themselves as full-blown sellers after another tumble in the standings. The Cleveland Indians could be nearing a trade for Milwaukee All-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy. However, that trade was stopped by Lucroy, who refused to waive his no-trade clause.

“There were some circumstances that came up that made me void it, obviously”, Lucroy said in Milwaukee. “I think it’s a complete team”. “And the present hasn’t been going as well as I expected”.

The Indians’ interest in Beltran has been known since the trade deadline talks began heating up, and those fires are apparently still burning, as ESPN’s Buster Olney tweeted last night that the Tribe are one of the teams still poking around for a potential trade. Brewers General Manager David Stearns confirmed on Sunday that LUCROY would be staying on Sunday.

Frazier, the highlight of the deal, was Cleveland’s No 1. prospect.

The New York Yankees might have been able to hold off the decision to trade Andrew Miller if they were able to not lose two straight games to start a crucial series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

So will his ability to mix and match Miller with right-hander Bryan Shaw in the late innings before handing the ball to closer Cody Allen. Miller has more than $21 million left on his contract, which runs through 2018, and sources have told ESPN’s Jayson Stark that the Indians are on the Hook for all of it. As for the Prospects that are going to New York Include Clint Frazier who was picked in the top 5 by the Indians in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft.

“Getting Andrew Miller – and Chris (Antonetti) said it really well – we’re getting one of the very elite relievers in all of baseball”, Francona said Monday as the trade deadline expired. “It is why we engage with multiple teams throughout the entirety of the negotiation”. Dellin Betances inherits the closer’s role, and Miller and Girardi both expressed confidence in him. Chapman is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, so it was in the Yankees’ best interest to trade him so that they could net some sort of profit.

I suspect Miller will be closing more than his share of games, especially if this team reaches the postseason. “He’s as good as it gets because he was willing to do anything”. The starting rotation gets a lot of credit, deservedly so. Not only is he good, but he’s left-handed.

Miller appeared in 44 games for the Yankees this season, averaging 15.3 strikeouts per nine innings. The move is a homecoming for Clippard, who was originally drafted by the Yankees back in 2003. Campos, 24, is 9-3 with a 3.20 ERA this year in 20 combined starts for Class AA Trenton and Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Baltimore is hoping Wade Miley can turn his solid July into a big finish with the AL East leaders. They have made a significant upgrade and are telling the rest of the AL that they expect to win this year. He allowed just one hit in seven innings in Seattle’s 4-1 victory against the major league-leading Chicago Cubs on Saturday.

Seattle received minor-league LHP Ariel Miranda in the trade.

His arrival in Cleveland addresses the club’s most glaring need and makes an already strong pitcher staff even better.
