Former minister D. K. Aruna, who was also part of the delegation, said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had confined himself to his guest house, leaving the governance to police. The government decided that JNTU-H would conduct the exam.
Party’s state unit chief Uttam Kumar Reddy told reporters after meeting, that the inquiry by the CID will not bring out the truth, and the party urged the governor to dismiss Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiam Srihari and Health Minister Laxma Reddy.
More than 50,000 students had appeared in the exam and results were announced a week later.
After the central government issued an ordinance on May 24, allowing states to conduct their own entrance tests for admissions to medical courses, Telangana conducted EAMCET II on July 9.
“When something unfortunate happens, some people will suffer”, chief minister Rao said.
Meanwhile, the Crime Investigation Department (CID), which is probing the leakage, briefed the Chief Minister of the progress made so far. He appealed to students and parents to understand the circumstances in which the decision had to be taken and cooperate with the authorities. Mukul Jain, Mayank Sharma, Sunil Singh and Irfan were the key accused.
Two sets of medical exam question papers of Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (Eamcet) were found to be leaked to students who paid Rs.30-40 lakh to brokers.
