The former Heisman Trophy victor offers valuable playmaking insurance for a team with a running back position a bit more in flux with Karlos Williams set to miss the first four games of the 2016 season.

There’s also rookie fifth-round pick Jonathan Williams, who faces potential discipline after being arrested in Arkansas two weeks ago on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated. Whaley said the coaches might want to draw up “some sets” that will have Bush and LeSean McCoy on the field “together”, but the Bills mainly want Bush to upgrade their return game. But another place Bush can help is in the return game, which was a problem for the Bills in 2015.

In his career, he has returned 100 punts for 781 yards and four touchdowns.

Bush has been mulling this over for a bit, as the Bills’ interest has been well known.

Earlier Thursday, Ryan was asked about his “hot sauce” comment. “I think it’s going to be pretty cool to have both of us back there making some plays”. Last year, Ryan let Hughes and Mario Williams primarily rush upfield rather than drop, which is a departure for outside linebackers in his scheme….

“I’m happy to be back to football, and looking forward to getting on the football field”, Bush said on the John Murphy Show on Tuesday afternoon. “So we have history, obviously, from New Orleans to Miami”. Bush took that to mean the Jets were going to try to injure him during the game, and even celebrated when Darrelle Revis ended up suffering a torn ACL in the game.

Bush’s season came to an ignominious end in Week 8, when he slipped on concrete near the sidelines at Edward Jones Dome.

Bush has 5,493 career yards rushing, 470 receptions for 3,508 yards and 53 offensive touchdowns. Hes topped 1,000 yards rushing twice, most recently in 2013, when he had 1,006 yards in 14 games with Detroit.

Now entering his 11th season, Bush is re-evaluating his future after each season.

“My wife and I always talked about living overseas and experiencing different cultures, and what better culture to experience for us than living in Jerusalem?” he said at a press conference at Madison Square Garden.
