Rep. Hanna Calls Trump ‘Deeply Flawed,’ Says He Will Vote for Clinton
Rep. Richard Hanna becomes first congressional Republican to say he will vote for Hillary Clinton on Tuesday. Trump has come under fire from across the political divide for remarks he made about the parents of a US Muslim soldier killed in action.

In an op-ed piece, Representative Richard Hanna of NY cited Trump’s attacks on the parents, calling the candidate “deeply flawed in endless ways”, “unrepentant” and “self-involved”.
Richard, who represents an eight-county district in upstate NY and is a former businessman, announced his decision in an interview and a letter on the opinion pages of a local news site.
Perhaps, as many Republicans stated they would not support Trump or won’t vote at all.
Trump clashed with Khizr and Ghazala Khan after they appeared on stage at the Democratic National Convention last week. Democrats painted a picture of an inclusive, optimistic America that was capped off by a speech from Khizr Khan, whose son was killed in Iraq while saving his men from a auto bomb.
Trump’s supporters packed a Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, high school gymnasium and thousands more were left outside or forced to watch in a spillover room.
Hanna, who announced plans to retire at the end of his current term, is known for breaking with most members of his party on issues such as abortion and climate change.
Hillary Clinton raised $63 million for her coffers in July, her biggest one-month haul to date, as the Democratic Party officially named her its nominee for the White House, her campaign said Tuesday.
“I will be hopeful and resolute in my belief that being a good American who loves his country is far more important than parties or winning and losing”, he concluded. She had established a clear lead in delegates by March 1.
He has also suggested that he fears the general election “is going to be rigged” – an unprecedented assertion by a presidential candidate. “I was stunned by the callousness of his comments”, Hanna said.
“There has to be a point in which you say, this is not somebody I can support for President of the United States. I mean these are, uh, great people, great families, frankly”, Trump responded.
Republican leaders, including Sen. 41% of Clinton voters said it was a vote against Donald Trump.
