James Wan Pumping Quarters Into ‘Mortal Kombat’
Tremor completes the four-character “Kombat Pack 1” that also featured Jason Voorhees, Tanya and the Predator. Reportedly, the new film will feature “darker, brutally real martial arts”. It cited specifically that some discussions about the said DLC were referred to as the rumored Kombat Pack 2 DLC of the video game, which, according to various speculations, will contain more skins and characters for the “Mortal Kombat X” video game. Plans for a third movie, titled Mortal Kombat: Devastation, never materialised and problems with New Line being folded into Warner Bros, Midway filing for bankruptcy and Threshold suing the video game publisher for the rights over the game’s development meant that the third movie was left in limbo.

His latest post on social media is an obvious attempt to toy with the emotions of the fans and gamers of “Mortal Kombat X“. The sequel, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, was released in 1997 and directed by John R. Leonetti (Annabelle), which only grossed $51 million. The only time it can be known is when NetherRealm finally release the first character for ‘Kombat Pack 2.’.
For now, a second Kombat Pack remains unofficial, though if one is confirmed, many expect the new fighters to be the ones already in the game as non-playable characters such as Baraka and Rain among others. But Boon has shared new game modes, including a classic Tremor, Story Pack, Kombat Cast, Spawn and even a Jurassic Kombat mode. The only logical guess so far for this is that the team is going to release Kombat Pack 2 for the game and that the DLC support for it will continue. The film is being written by Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street, Mortal Kombat: Rebirth) and Dave Callaham (The Expendables, Doom).
