While the resort has been evacuated, it remains only voluntary.
– Cal-Fire is responding to a vegetation fire that has rapidly grown to 1,700 acres off of Highway 128 west of Pleasants Valley Road, west of Winters in Yolo County.
The Winters Police Department is urging drivers to use extreme caution if they are traveling through the area due to firefighting equipment and smoke drift.
The Cold Fire in Yolo County started shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, officials said. Highway 128 was closed from Monticello Dam to Pleasants Valley Road, officials said. This is the third time in as many years that Golden Bear Estates has been evacuated.
