#CanYouHearUsNow: Muslim women respond to Trump’s Khan statement
“No matter what Trump has said or done – from shameful personal attacks to racist outbursts – John McCain has blindly pledged to ‘support the nominee”, said Max Croes, campaign manager for McCain’s Democratic opponent, Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, in one typical response from a Democratic Senate campaign.

Publishers of another volume, “The US Constitution and Fascinating Facts About It”, told AFP they had completely sold out and seen nothing like it in 23 years of operations.
A similar appeal was made to Republicans in the House of Representatives, according to a senior aide. He also went after Republicans who have criticized Trump’s comments and actions but still support him.
The appeal did not generate any help for Trump.
“In recent days, Donald Trump disparaged a fallen soldier’s parents”.
He later also questioned why Ghazala Khan said nothing during her husband’s speech, even hinting that she may not have been “allowed” to speak her mind.
McCain was among several lawmakers – many facing re-election this fall – who distanced themselves from Trump’s comments Monday. “The courage and pain of Khizr and Ghazala Khan should be honored by all Americans”. Trump refused to back down Monday, complaining anew that he has been “viciously attacked” by the Khans. The father of a Marine, Pence said Sunday that he and Trump believe Capt. Khan is a hero and his family “should be cherished by every American”.
“Election year or not, the VFW will not tolerate anyone berating a Gold Star family member for exercising his or her right of speech or expression”, said Brian Duffy, the national commander of the country’s oldest and largest war veterans organization, referring to families who have lost relatives in wars. A blue star represented each member, and if one of them was killed in the war, it would be replaced with a gold star. America needs a measured, thoughtful, discerning leader, and Trump has in this one episode amply demonstrated all the ways in which he is anything but.
The Khans bristled at that suggestion and, in numerous television appearances over the weekend, said Trump was ignorant about Islam and about their family’s sacrifice.
Despite the backlash, however, WBEZ city politics reporter Lauren Chooljian says the remarks ultimately may not play a major role in the race for the White House. Khan spoke directly to Donald Trump, saying “You are asking Americans to trust you with their future”. The Veterans of Foreign Wars, the nation’s oldest and largest veterans organization, called Trump out of bounds for tangling with Khizr and Ghazala Khan, whose son was killed in 2004. “Ours is a sacrifice we would never want you to know”.
“This story is not about Mr. Khan, who is all over the place doing interviews, but rather RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM and the U.S. Get smart!”
Trump also raises larger contributions through a fundraising partnership with allied Republican parties.
The letter, which was shared with The Washington Post and says it is not a partisan attack, was sent to Trump Monday via United States Postal Service, FedEx and Uber’s courier service.
Trump has been emphasizing his efforts to raise money in small increments online, comparing himself to onetime Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, who funded his presidential bid that way.
Yet he’s repeatedly made inflammatory statements at little apparent political cost – and sometimes to his benefit – going back to the beginning of the campaign when he challenged the heroism of McCain, a prisoner of war in Vietnam, and branded Mexican immigrants rapists and criminals.
