What Donald Trump Accomplished
Her harsh criticism of Cruz stemmed from the former presidential candidate’s refusal to endorse Trump during his Wednesday night speech at the Republican National Convention. “In that speech last night I did not say a single negative word about Donald Trump”, Cruz said.

“It’s taken me about 30 minutes to calm down and stop shaking with anger”, said Erik Layton, an alternate delegate from California who had shouted: “Go home” at Cruz after his speech.
Cruz explained after his speech that he would not endorse Trump because the candidate attacked Cruz’s wife, Heidi, and suggested Cruz’s father was involved in President John Kennedy’s 1963 assassination. During the address, Cruz urged Republicans to “vote your conscience” in November, a direct reference to Trump detractors that lobbied members of the RNC rules committee on a “conscience clause” that would have allowed delegates to vote for someone other than the victor of their state’s primary results.
When it became clear that the Texas senator and runner-up for the GOP presidential nomination would not endorse Trump, the convention hall erupted with jeers and booing.
Trump also revived the conspiracy theory raised by the National Enquirer, which published a photo of Cruz’s father and JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.
A night after being booed off the Republican National Convention stage, Texas Sen. “Let me tell you the politically easy option is to stand up and pledge your allegiance”. “If I tell you I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it, or the kids lose respect”.
Paul Manafort told NBC yesterday that Mr Trump invited his primary opponents to address the convention in Cleveland because “he views the primary process as over”. “And like each of you, I want to see the principles that our party believes prevail in November”.
“Maybe I’ll set up a super PAC if he decides to run”, Trump said, then turned to his own lawyer in the audience.
“I don’t want his endorsement”, Trump said angrily, in a rambling stream-of-consciousness performance that seemed half standup routine, half-vengeful rant.
Mr Pence has said he is confident Mr Trump would stand by the nation’s North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies, but insisted those countries “must pay their fair share”.
