Hanna becomes first GOP congressman to say he’s voting for Clinton
Democrat Hillary Clinton soared to her best fundraising month of the election in July, raising almost $90 million for her campaign and the Democratic Party as she formally accepted her party’s presidential nomination, her campaign announced Tuesday.

On Monday, Donald Trump announced in OH that his campaign raised about $35.8 million in July, much of it from more than a half-million small donations that averaged around $69 each.
Hanna had previously said that he could never support Trump, and told Syracuse.com that the candidate’s reaction to the now-famous speech by Khizr Khan at the Democratic National Convention was the final straw in convincing him to vote for Clinton.
“I do not expect perfection, but I do require more than the embodiment of at least a short list of the seven deadly sins”, he added.
Hanna said that Trump is “unfit to serve our party and can not lead this country”.
At last week’s Democratic National Convention, Khizr Khan – a Muslim whose son was killed serving in the United States military in Iraq – criticised Mr Trump’s plan to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the US.
High-profile Republicans have rebuked Trump in the wake of his spat with the Khans, including Sen.
The Clinton campaign declined to comment about Trump’s remarks. “I think Trump is a national embarrassment. We make good on our promises”, she said, noting the issue was important to her because her father was a small businessman.
He told a rally in Columbus, Ohio, that he had heard “more and more” that the contest would be unfair.
Trump’s presidential campaign has appealed to Capitol Hill for support amid the controversy, including circulating talking points for lawmakers to use, but has found little support.
“This is the decisive moment of defining this election”, said Newt Gingrich, who was a top candidate to be Trump’s running mate, in an interview.

Maria Comella, Chris Christie’s former aide, will vote for Clinton saying that with Trump as the GOP nominee, Republicans “are at a moment where silence isn’t an option”, CNN reported.
