Sunderland appoint David Moyes as manager
“I’m going to leave that until we meet all the players and get all the coaching staff together and plan for the internationals in September”.

“We will adapt our style to play different opponents”.
“Players who join up with us will enjoy the opportunity to play and try and win”.
“We’ve got some good coaches in the pipeline too and Sam will be able to work with them on a hands-on basis, just like he would do with a club”.
Sam Allardyce has urged England players to use Euro 2016 disappointment as a motivation.
“I’ve had a few managers now, like most of the boys in the dressing room but it is a new start again, so we want to be optimistic and think positive”, said Mannone. “For me, it is absolutely the best job in English football”. Since then Allardyce has gone on to manage Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham and Sunderland and he believes he possesses the requisite experience for the post.
Allardyce said: “I think that it was 10 years since I was last interviewed and to sit here is a huge thrill for me”.
“I hope so, I think he wasn’t the only candidate around. I am relishing the challenge and excited by the opportunity”, Moyes told the club’s official website.
Allardyce boasts a wealth of experience in the Premier League, having managed five top-flight clubs, but he is often accused of playing a negative brand of football.
“I’ve obviously never worked with him but I’ve spoken to people who have who say he’s the right man for the job”.
“I expect the players to be very adaptable and very flexible. I’m meeting everybody here at St George’s Park”.
He fully intends to carry that practice into global management.
“I know we have talented, committed players”, Allardyce said, “and it is time for us to deliver”.
“It’s been disappointing but not rock bottom”. “I consider myself much more than that but that is the label I’ve been left with”.
“Hopefully I can pass a lot of my knowledge and experience on to the team and the staff that works behind the team to try and get a very happy camp that becomes very successful”. He rejected claims that the players are not committed and was more eager to talk about the future rather than the murky past.
“The loss of form was not because of a lack of passion or desire”.
