Instagram Copied Snapchat So Bad They Even Stole the Name
When a user shares content, he can select to block some users from seeing the images posted in a story, which is a feature not available in the main Instagram feed.

Sharing everything in between is what Snapchat is all about, and news stories Tuesday about Instagram’s move didn’t pull any punches about the copycat appearance of it all.
The release is the latest effort from Facebook’s properties to incorporate Snapchat’s popular features. You can edit your photos with a variety of text and drawing tools and all photos and videos disappear after 24 hours.
When you upload a new story, your friends will see a colored ring pop up around your profile photo.
Make your Stories private: If your account is set to private, your story will only be visible to your followers.
It should: Snapchat has a nearly identical product that it also calls Stories.
Instagram say that the new feature “follows the privacy settings of your account”. The only thing missing are the selfie-lenses.
The goal of the feature, according to Instagram, is for users to not worry about over-posting and clogging up their followers’ feeds.
Just like on Snapchat, you can draw and write on your photos, and the photos disappear.
To view their story users just have to tap on their profile photo. Pressing on that shows a story that can be clicked through, and users can also tap to send a direct message to a user about any particular post in a story. However, users can also select the people they do not want to be able to see their story. Tap once to go back and forward or swipe to jump to another user’s story.
The new feature will stitch together photos and videos in a slideshow format.
Speaking to TechCrunch, founder and CEO Kevin Systrom said: “They [Snapchat] deserve all the credit”.

Like Snapchat, you can view who’s seen each photo and video you’ve posted.
