Rain postpones NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono to today
As fog rolls in, race cars are lined up on pit road at Pocono Raceway after the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pennsylvania 400 auto race was red flagged Monday.

Earnhardt missed his third straight race because of concussion-like symptoms and there is no timetable for his return.
There are no lights at Pocono, so it was a relatively easy call by NASCAR to postpone at 2:45 p.m.
The Sprint Cup Series is back at Pocono Raceway this weekend, and while building a winning DFS NASCAR lineup for the “Tricky Triangle” can be hard, at least you don’t have to think too far back for a blueprint for success.
The Frenchman Pagenaud increased his lead to 48 points entering the race Sunday.
Prior to Pocono, Buescher had a 29.2 average finish with only four lead-lap finishes over his first 20 starts. “I just hope they all come back [Monday]”.
“It was stressful”, said Buescher, who lost a lap because of a pit road speeding penalty on Lap 94 and regained it as the highest-scored lapped vehicle under caution on Lap 109.
Pocono, while having a little bit of a rap for bad weather, did not have a rainout since August 2009 before this June’s race was postponed for a day.
Drops of rain had been spotted throughout the race earlier on, and there were rumors that the running was going to be stopped at the midway point, leading to a series of frantic pit stops preparing for the 80-lap mark. We can get into this Chase now. In his role as a television commentator, Gordon said he has seen lots of loop data that shows Kyle Busch regularly at the top.
The track-drying Air Titans provided the only action at Pocono and, after morning rain had passed, there were clear skies at the scheduled 1:30 p.m. start.
“It’s a really neat time to be driving a Toyota for Joe Gibbs (Racing)”.
The race restarted and Larson and Dillon battled for the lead for several laps before getting together, drifting up the track, and handing the lead to Joey Logano.
Erik Jones made the most of his opportunity of having the best vehicle at Iowa Speedway. If Buescher can catch David Ragan for 30th in the next five races, he would displace Larson (currently 15th), who holds the final entry spot by virtue of points.
The NASCAR fans who were upset that they didn’t run the final 22 laps in the fog, I don’t have much to say to you because you’re clearly already in a place of madness.
“The track was very close to being dry”, Culbert said. “I just don’t know what I did to deserve this”. Like Buescher, he drives for another small team in the series – Tommy Bladwin Racing – that doesn’t have the resources of multi-car teams. He has a driver rating of 106.0 at this track and an average finish of 12.4. The Team Penske driver walked away unhurt and he blamed an improperly installed brake line on the crash.
William Byron won his fifth Camping World Truck Series race of the season by capturing the victory Saturday at Pocono Raceway. Last August at Watkins Glen it was A.J. Allmendinger at 127.83 miles per hour. “If you look at where the midseason falls, typically you’re at Daytona, a superspeedway race, then we were at Kentucky with the new rules package”.

The race resumed on lap 92 with Logano out front. The race eventually was called, with rookie Chris Buescher taking the win. This year’s NASCAR Chase could potentially have three rookies in it along with a couple of third-year drivers.
