North Korea ballistic missile lands near Japan waters, alarms Tokyo
Last month, North Korea fired three ballistic missiles into the sea.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told reporters in Tokyo that the launch is an unforgivable act.
Seoul and Washington have said the system, Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD, is needed to better cope with what they call North Korea’s increasing military threats. “This is an outrageous act that can not be tolerated”.
North Korea on Wednesday test-fired a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan, South Korea’s defence ministry said, in an apparent reaction to the planned deployment of a United States missile defence system.
North Korea has fired another ballistic missile into the sea, South Korea’s military said Wednesday. Analysts said the high-altitude flight meant North Korea had made progress in its push to be able to strike USA forces throughout the region.
Tuesday’s test was an apparent show of force against the planned deployment of a US missile defence system and comes ahead of a US-South Korea joint military exercise scheduled for later this month.
It’s a clear evidence to support a claim that THAAD in South Korea is not aimed at intercepting DPRK missiles, but supervising and pressuring China and Russian Federation as part of US efforts at its Pivot-to-Asia strategy.
North Korea has previously said it was testing its ability to strike bases used by USA forces in South Korea.
The missile was launched near the western North Korean city of Unyul at around 7:50 am Wednesday, South Korea’s Defense Ministry said.
He added that Japan had lodged a protest with North Korea and would coordinate with the US and South Korea over ” resolute measures” in response.
Japan, it said, also did so by strengthening its southwestern military deployment and by passing new security legislation to allow its troops to fight overseas even if Japan itself is not under attack.
Pyongyang has increased its launches following the agreement between Seoul and Washington to deploy an advanced missile defence system known as Thaad in the South in July.
South Korea claims that Pyongyang conducted another ballistic missile trial, despite the United Nations resolutions regarding the matter. South Korea confirmed that a launch had taken place on Wednesday, giving no further details.
North Korea regularly condemns the drills as a “declaration of war”.
– March 18: North Korea for the first time since 2014 fires a medium-range Rodong missile, which flies about 800 kilometers (500 miles) before crashing in the eastern sea.

America’s commitment to the defence of its allies, including South Korea and Japan, in the face of these threats, remains “iron-clad”, she said.
