Game of Thrones’ eighth season will be the last one
“Game of Thrones” Season 7 and 8 may not be the end of the TV series. But this week HBO has officially confirmed that Game of Thrones will indeed end with the eighth season of the show allowing us just two more seasons to enjoy before the ultimate end.

Bloys said at the conference that the number of episodes for the final season has yet to be determined. He added, “Believe me, as the new [programming executive] coming in, if I could get them to do more”. And any Game of Thrones fans hoping to prove otherwise will be disappointed this morning as USA network HBO have announced the fantasy series will conclude after its eighth series. It looks like the massively successful fantasy series’ final chapter is its eighth season run on HBO.
Look, if we’re doing spinoffs, we’d rather see a prequel that takes place during the War of the Usurper / Robert’s Rebellion and show us the Battle of the Trident once and for all.
Bloys said season eight’s episode count has not yet been decided.
When asked about the possibility of a “Game of Thrones” spinoff show, Bloys said there have been conversations regarding that.
Game of Thrones is based on novels written by George R R Martin.
No more GoT after season eight.
Production on season seven will begin later than usual – because storylines require colder than usual weather – and they will be shooting in Northern Ireland, Spain, and Iceland. The recently-wrapped sixth season of GoT ended with an average of 25 million viewers across HBO’s multiple cable and web platforms. He said it made sense creatively, but as of now there are no concrete plans for a spin-off.

“Game” won’t be back with its seventh season until next summer, missing the deadline for the 2017 Emmy competition, which it routinely dominates. I’m open to it.
