Pokemon Go Developer Addresses Update Criticisms

This weekend, Pokémon Go developer Niantic Labs updated the insanely popular mobile game, and fans are not happy about it.

“So Niantic removed the in-game 3 step tracking and shut down all of the Pokemon tracking sites”. In a Facebook post, the USA company said it removed the indicator showing how far Pokemon were because it was “confusing and did not meet our underlying product goals”. “We will keep you posted as we strive to improve this feature”, a post on the official Pokemon Go Facebook page reads. And we aren’t done yet!

The Niantic team is also working hard on releasing the game in countries where Pokemon GO is not available yet.

Pokemon Go creator Niantic has responded to anger from fans over the removal of Pokemon-catching tools from the game, calling the original system “confusing”. Two third-party services which were used to track the location of a Pokemon, PokeVision and PokeHound, were removed after the update. You’ve captivated the world and introduced Pokemon to people that would have never touched it had it not been for Pokemon Go.

With Pokemon GO’s momentum having been stifled following all this recent backlash, it remains to be seen whether the game can retain its estimated 75 million player base.

“We want you to know that we have been working insane hours”. But we’ll do our best going forward to keep you posted on what’s going on.

J.C. Smith, The Pokemon Company’s consumer marketing director, told The Associated Press last week that the company is updating the augmented-reality game so it remains fun for players but respects the real world.

Navigate to the Apps tab, find the transactions you want refunded, and fill in the blank space that you are demanding a refund because of an originally-advertised feature that’s no longer in the game.
