She doesn’t have the ability to inspire with a phrase like Barack Obama. “And to all of your supporters here and around the country: I want you to know, I’ve heard you”.

Coming from a low-income family, Yeung was also pleased when Clinton talked about making college debt-free for all.

Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) rallied around Clinton during their speeches earlier in the week, despite shouts of protest from the convention floor. But Democrats were not without internal turmoil, as Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned on the eve of the convention and some supporters of Bernie Sanders showed their dissatisfaction with Clinton throughout the convention.

“Our Founders embraced the enduring truth that we are stronger together”, she said.

Trump also knocked Clinton on the economy, saying the world would have corruption and “no borders, no jobs, no safety” under her administration. She told Americans we cannot afford to elect Donald Trump as president, warning: “A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”.

The Democratic delegates were staunchly opposed to Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee.

Trump did say those words when explaining why he thinks he is the best candidate for president.

Clinton utterly failed to make the landing at the end of the speech, and she got bogged down at times in touching all the bases her constituency demands (as Democrats tend to do, but only some can do well).

Especially when she said, “He loses his cool at the slightest provocation….”

“I get it. Some people just don’t know what to make of me”, she said.

Mr Trump is now leading in the polls after “bounce” in support in the wake of the Republican national convention last week.
