For Damon, Bourne a friend to lean on
Matt Damon is back for another Bourne instalment: Jason Bourne.

Featuring all the thrilling fight sequences and espionage action that we’ve come to love about the series, the film takes things to an insane new level that should satisfy fans. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures’ Bourne franchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows.
I hate to admit this, but there were moments in “Jason Bourne” where I was bored. In the second scene Bourne is still being pursued and shot at by the Asset but now in Las Vegas and the result is like a carmaggedon scene out of The Fast & Furious.
While the quality remains high, the seams really show in this installment, thanks to the fact all of the major questions about Bourne’s past have been answered.
Meanwhile, stern, ambitious Central Intelligence Agency newcomer Heather Lee (Alicia Vikander, as tightly wound as her hair knot) tries to bring Dewey down, and bring Bourne in. The back up plan is to have him killed. I felt bored through a lot of it, which should absolutely not happen in a Jason Bourne film.
Overall, Jason Bourne is this week’s effort to liven up the summer movie season with a slightly classier action outing than we usually get. Although if this makes enough cash, it probably wont be the last we see of him. Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel, Julia Stiles and Riz Ahmed also star.
“There’s been six or seven (recent) performances and they’re all really different and they’re all going in different places and I don’t see the boundaries yet”.
Are you happy Matt Damon is back as Jason Bourne? . It’s clear that Damon really committed to this role the fourth time around, and it pays off in the film. Jason Bourne continues the story of this intriguing man.

“Jason Bourne” doesn’t have the fresh kick of the first “Bourne” film from almost a decade and a half ago, but Damon is a more accomplished actor than he was in 2002, and the more we know about this character, the more we feel for him, and it’s a treat to see him again after all these years.
