Galaxy Note 7 Announced

The rear-facing camera in the Galaxy Note 7 houses a 12-megapixel f/1.7 sensor, while a 5-megapixel snapper is located on the phone’s front side, with the new dual-pixel autofocus technology, a notable upgrade from Galaxy Note 5’s 16 MP f/1.9 rear shooter. The curved design is in fact an innovation for the Note series, and the producers declared that this makes it 2.2 mm smaller in width than Note 5.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED dual edge display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution. Apart from backup, the cloud service also allows for easy transfer of data, apps, settings, and layouts between devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is both IP68 dust and waterproof, similar to the company’s other two flagship devices – Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.

Samsung Electronics is set to release the Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea in mid-August following its debut in NY earlier this week. The Smartphone in note series scheduled to be released on 19 of August has not disappointed at all.

The big new feature though is its iris scanner, which as the video above points out is 200 times more secure than a fingerprint scanner, not to mention far more futuristic. For example, the Note7 relies on a Snapdragon 820 processor (for the USA market) with 4 GB of RAM, and includes the same 12-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel selfie camera as the S7. With that in mind, it offers better pressure sensitivity. Paying full price, a user is US can buy the Galaxy Note 7 for $840 (approx RS 56,000) on Sprint’s website, $864 on Verizon and $880 (approx Rs 59,000) on AT&T. That means you can write underwater.

So how much is all this tech going to set you back? However, it seems that they changed a little bit their approach: Note 7 seems to have the same specs as the S7 or its Edge version. For those who don’t already own one, Gear VR is still easily the best mobile VR headset available (though we’ll have to see what Google’s Daydream has to say about that when it launches this Fall). The Samsung official couldn’t disclose numbers, so we’ll have to wait (probably a few months) before knowing just how many millions of units are/will be shipped. Galaxy Note 7 using a USB Type-C for charging, and is also equipped with NFC support.
