Jasser who is a prominent Muslim, conservative, Republican and military veteran denounced Trump’s comments targeting the parents of Humayun Khan, a Muslim American Army Captain killed in action in 2004. You tell me. A Republican running for Congress said GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump “shouldn’t be beat up” about his statements about a Muslim family who spoke at the Democratic National Convention. John McCain. Said McCain: “While our party has bestowed upon (Trump) the nomination, it is not accompanied by unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us”. “Mr. Kahn made a decision to politicize his son’s death which is a bad, awful thing and I think his speech was wonderful up until point he chose to attack Donald Trump”.
In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Trump responded to Khan’s speech. Neither did a spokesman for former Gov. Rick Perry, an enthusiastic Trump backer who served in the U.S. Air Force.
“[Border security] is a very big subject for me”. She has criticized some of Trump’s rhetoric in the past.
This is the first time Pence has spoken about the topic, having previously deferred questions to Trump’s campaign.
“While Donald Trump is the Republican nominee for president, and I am a Republican candidate for Congress, his rhetoric does not represent my beliefs, nor does it reflect the central tenants of our party. That kind decency you mock as “political correctness”, it went on to say.
A spokesperson for the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“We are all Gold Star Families, who have lost those we love the most in war”, the letter said.
Trump has not yet apologized to the Khans, but on Twitter said the real issue is the growing threat of Islamic terrorism.
“There has to come a point at which you say somebody who makes those kinds of statements doesn’t have the judgment, the temperament, the understanding to occupy the most powerful position in the world”, Obama said.
“U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan is an American hero”, Katko said in a statement.
