Niantic Speaks Up Over Pokemon GO Troubles

Research carried out by App Annie suggests that almost a month after it launched, Pokemon Go is still raking in a massive $10 million a day. By adding sponsorships, the company felt “we wouldn’t have to cave to that pressure to just dial it up a little more”.

In a Tuesday disclosure, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke said that the game developer – the creator of the Pokémon Go mobile gaming phenomenon – is looking into the possibility of more sponsorships with companies that are interested in attracting character-hunting gamers to their businesses. And the company is pointing the finger to an extent at those third-party “cheating” apps rather taking full responsibility for its own server problems. Truth be told, the nearby tracker did not function properly before, and Niantic was aware of the glitch. This feature did not work the way Niantic intended it to, and did not meet their “underlying product goals”. He even says, “We didn’t make Pokevision to spite you, Niantic - we made it so that we can keep everyone playing while we wait patiently”. You’ve captivated the world and introduced Pokemon to people that would have never touched it had it not been for Pokemon Go.

While Pokémon GO continues to enjoy global success, recent changes to the app have made plenty of fans unhappy. Niantic claims that these third-party tracking sites had been “interfering” with their “ability to maintain quality of service for our users” in their latest post on Facebook.

Along with this Company used this platform to ensure the users as well that they are still working on the plans to come up with this game in the other territories too. If you haven’t heard us Tweeting much it’s because we’ve been heads down working on the game. But we’ll do our best going forward to keep you posted on what’s going on.

Niantic has begun shutting down unofficial Pokemon tracking sites like PokeVision and PokeHound.
