Everton have £10m bid rejected for Swansea defender Ashley Williams
Blues boss Ronald Koeman is after a new centre-back and may even need two if John Stones is eventually allowed to join Manchester City following negotiations between the two clubs over a £50million deal, and he had hoped Williams would be an ideal replacement.

The 31-year-old defensive rock of club and country woke up on Sunday morning to reports that the deal had been done already to take him from south Wales to Goodson Park.
Go stuff yerselves with a big leek!
The experienced defender captained Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 in France this summer.
And with the 65-cap ace said to have been tempted by a new challenge after eight years service at the Liberty, a move to link up with Dutchman Koeman was on the cards with the prospect of it being finalised on Wednesday.
Iceland worldwide Sigurdsson, 26, had been linked with a £25 million move to Everton this summer but has committed his future to Swansea.
“Ashley is very important to us and I don’t know what the situation is,” said Guidolin after his side’s 4-0 pre-season win at Wolves.
It eventually became a permanent transfer, costing a then club record of £400,000, after he helped the Swans win the League One title leading to the team’s promotion to the Football League Championship for the first time in 24 years.
Williams had just finished his ninth season for the Swans last term.
News of Sigurdsson’s new contract will come as a relief to Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin and the club’s fans after what has been a hard pre-season.

Andre Ayew, who scored 12 goals last season, has also been the subject of strong interest from West Ham who have reportedly made a £20million bid for the Ghana forward.
