‘Powers’ Cancelled After Two Seasons on PlayStation Network

Powers follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim as they investigate cases involving people with extraordinary abilities. The show was the first original program on the PlayStation Network, a science experiment from Sony that did well enough to get a second season this year, although the show’s two seasons received a tepid reception.

Set amidst today’s paparazzi culture, Powers asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all?

Bendis himself seemed to confirm the news over Twitter, just a few weeks after Season 2 wrapped its PlayStation run on July 19.

The Powers series cast also includes Max Fowler, Adam Godley, Noah Taylor, Olesya Rulin and Eddie Izzard. Charlie Huston, Remi Aubuchon, Bendis, Michael Avon Oeming, David Engel, Lawrence Mattis, David Alpert and Frank Frattaroli serve as executive producers.

Bendis assured fans that Marvel would continue to produce the Powers comic book and hinted that the show might reappear on another platform.
