Desperate Rex Ryan, Reggie Bush burying ‘hot sauce’ hatchet

In turn, the Bills signed Reggie Bush to a one-year deal, hoping to add depth to the group.

Buffalo’s interest in Bush is two-fold: First, they’ll be without Karlos Williams for four games and, second, Rex Ryan has been less than thrilled with his return game.

Led by starting running back LeSean McCoy, the Bills led the league in rushing last season.

In 10 National Football League seasons, he has 5,493 yards rushing, 470 receptions for 3,508 yards, and 53 offensive touchdowns. He spent five seasons with the Saints before moving on to brief tenures with the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions.

This will be Bush’s fifth team, physical pending, heading into the 11th year of his career since being drafted out of USC.

“I’m in shape. I’m full strength. I’m ready to go”, Bush told reporters Monday at Bills training camp in Rochester, New York.

That sets the stage for Bush to take over punt-return duties as soon as he eases into practice this upcoming week.

“I guess the good thing is I’ve been around long enough where I’ve pretty much been through every offensive system possible.”

The Bills were likely interested in checking out his leg to see how well it had healed after the injury that ended his 2015 season.

Bush is coming off a forgettable campaign with the 49ers during which he tallied just 12 touches for 47 yards and no touchdowns across five games.

The Buffalo Bills appear to have special plans for veteran running back Reggie Bush. His best season came in 2008 with New Orleans, when he returned 20 punts for 270 yards and scored three touchdowns.

“I think I’m just taking it year-by-year”, Bush said Monday.

In his first practice a little over 24 hours after signing with the Bills, the 31-year old looked good at times, showing the burst that made him a household name a decade ago.

He hurt himself after running out of bounds and slipping on a concrete ring that runs around that stadium’s football field.
