Cancer-stricken Shannen Doherty: I’ll be dead in five years
Shannen Doherty has opened to the public about her current battle with cancer. “Back then I was a kid, man, I thought that I was invincible, I thought I was going to live forever”.

With her mom and friends by her side, Shannen recently said good-bye to her famous raven locks and shared the photo on her Instagram account. “Because the cancer family is a really large family, and they’re wonderful and embracing and so willing to share their own story with you – and also inspire you and be inspired by you”. “You know, am I going to have to go through this again, or am I going to get secondary cancer? I always did, but it’s like a new kind of appreciation”.
Though she’s been very strong and positive throughout this journey, Doherty admits the most frightening part is the “unknown” and being uncertain of what she could face next as she says that her cancer has spread beyond the lymph nodes. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Doherty recalls her most popular character, Brenda Walsh in Beverly Hills 90210, when she discovered a breast lump and has to undergo biopsy. She said this challenge has made her marriage stronger. “He’s never missed a sick day”. “It’s the worry of your future and how your future is going to affect the people that you love”.
