Harrison Prince is facing charges of unlawful conduct toward a child.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department received word that 3-year-old boy was kidnapped by his step-grandfather in a 2016 black Toyota Corolla, said.

That chase went into Fairfield County, and ended before 11:30 a.m. ended in Chester County when Prince’s auto hit a Chester County deputy’s vehicle. A deputy spotted the vehicle a short time later, and they attempted to stop the auto, but officers say Prince didn’t stop and sped off.

Rescue workers were dispatched as a precaution to check on the boy, who was found unharmed in the vehicle, Lott said.

Prince then led authorities on a short foot chase before being apprehended, Sprouse said. Investigators say the child was not injured.

Prince is being booked into the Chester County Detention Center on “multiple” charges, Sprouse said.

Prince is also charged with failure to stop for blue lights; authorities say more charges could be filed.
