Brett Favre’s Hall of Fame locker includes a Vikings jersey

On Aug. 6, a group of NFL legends including Brett Favre will be forever enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as the Class of 2016.

“The Hall’s curatorial staff selects the artifacts for exhibit”, Pete Fierle, vice president of communications for the Hall of Fame, told ESPN.com, adding that the Packers jersey is the one Favre wore when he broke the league’s all-time passing touchdown record, and the Vikings jersey is from the day he broke the league record for consecutive starts. It’ll be anyone who visits the Hall of Fame. So, no, Favre himself did not put that Vikings jersey in his locker.

Unlike Colts coach Chuck Pagano, who revealed Monday that quarterback Andrew Luck and the rest of the available starters will play against the Packers.

But Favre’s induction especially means a lot to Packers fans.

The Packers are staying in Cleveland and must organize travel to Canton for the ceremony. However, playing in the Hall of Fame game is new territory for the Packers under McCarthy.

“It’s hard to say workload (this year) with the amount of plays I’ve played the last few years in preseason”, Rodgers said. “I was joking with them, ‘Just let them go. Whether that’s a series or a quarter or more than that, we’ll be ready to play”. Kidding aside, Rodgers said he understands the point of view from the referee. But things may change as we approach the preseason.

Don’t forget our CBS 58 Sports Special this Thursday at 7 p.m. where we trace Favre’s incredible career by those who know him best and watched him grow into the elite quarterback he became.
