A soldier who served with a slain Muslim Army captain says Donald Trump’s verbal attacks on the hero’s family have forced her away from possibly supporting the candidate.

Khan’s father, Khizr Khan, spoke at the Democratic National Convention and challenged Trump to read the Constitution after slamming his proposal to ban Muslims from entering the US.
Khan made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia last week alongside his wife, blasting Trump for his rhetoric toward Muslims in a speech that drew national attention.
“You have sacrificed nothing, and no one”, he said. She said she’s tried to understand Trump’s comments, but finds a lack of compassion.
Trump’s remarks have drawn rebukes from other Republican elected officials such as U.S. Sen.
“I’ve spoken to a number of Gold Star moms and dads, and they just deserve our utmost respect”, he tells Sykes.
But none have rescinded their endorsement of Trump, and Rubio said he wouldn’t, either – underscoring the ambivalence of many Republicans toward their standard-bearer this year, but also the reluctance of some to do anything to benefit Clinton’s candidacy.
Attached to the email was a document listing talking points and quotes from Trump about the Khan family. Responding with his usual fire and self-aggrandized compulsion, Trump lashed out at the family.
“I think I’ve made a lot of sacrifices”. I am a Gold Star mother. She stood silently beside her husband as he delivered a powerful condemnation of the Republican presidential nominee. When you question a mother’s pain, by implying that her religion, not her grief, kept her from addressing an arena of people, you are attacking us…. “I believe the focus needs to be on the differences that he has with Hillary Clinton in terms of policies”.
Trump is facing scrutiny from all over for what he said. They simply graced the DNC to pay tribute to their fallen son who was killed in 2004 by a suicide bomb.
His lousy attempts to sympathize with the Khans did little to negate his inflammatory comments, and those on the right are starting to turn against Trump.
Today McCain tore into Trump saying, ‘while our party has bestowed upon him the nomination, it is not accompanied by unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us, ‘ the Arizona senator and veteran said.
