Special agents with the Attorney General’s Crimes Against Children Unit, which is a division of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), were requested by Loveland Police Chief Sean Rahe to lead the criminal investigation.
“In addition to this, and I think more aggravating, is that after having engaged in this conduct, he then tried to cover up his alleged activities with calling the police and indicating someone had kidnapped his child from his vehicle”, said Dottie Smith with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office.
Loveland Police do not now have a suspect, but Sgt. Jose Alejandro said Urban Search and Rescue Team conducted a search at Kelley Nature Preserve until 4:30 a.m. Monday because they were able to ping a phone there. “And I come back out because I needed my wallet…it was only like two or three minutes and I get in my auto because my wallet was in her diaper bag…and she was gone”, he said in the 911 call. The dead infant was found on private property in the 100 block of Glendale-Milford Road in Miami Township, Clermont County, a short distance east of Remington. “My child’s been taken”.
Authorities issued a Statewide Endangered Missing Child Advisory, saying Crawford was believed to be in danger.
