Ex-Spartan Mike Sadler died in a vehicle accident
The vehicle had been traveling westbound on Beaver Lake Road in Merton, a rural, residential area with a 35 miles per hour speed limit, when it lost control on wet pavement, left the roadway and struck a tree, according to police.

The third man, 21-year-old Colby Delahoussaye, a place kicker for Louisiana State University who was also in the vehicle, was rushed to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for treatment, the release said. Arrangements will be made to have Coach Riley and the student-athletes available to all media in the coming days.
It’s equal parts unfair and unfathomable.
Sadler was a four-year starter and four-time academic All-American at Michigan State. Foltz and Delahoussaye were heading into another college football season. He gained notoriety on the field and on social media for his sense of humor as well. The punter would have been a senior this year for the Huskers. It was the culmination of a promise on Twitter earlier in the week.
Hearing the news about Sadler was heart-breaking. Puyol said. “I know my platform is so much bigger because I play football so if I want to help people out and be somebody who shares more than football but who shares life with people, I think that is probably the most important thing to do”. However, seeing how the Nebraska football community and those outside the program have reacted to the death of Foltz gave Puyol an indication of how special of a person Foltz was.
“The world has lost a rising star who dreamed big and was accomplishing those dreams, one after another”, Mark Dantonio said in a tweet. It was one of the best things to come out of the day because it perfectly honored the Spartan great – showed that there is more to life than football. “I always say to try and be a light, and he truly was a light in this world”, as reported by the Detroit Free Press.
“I’ve had three or four punters make it to the NFL”, Riley said, “and this guy was really good”.
The driver, 24-year-old Michael Sadler of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was killed in the crash along with 22-year-old Samuel Foltz of Grand Island, Nebraska. Kohl’s Professional Camps offered its condolences to the Sadler and Foltz families Sunday. It was an honor and privilege to have them as friends.

Sadler told Lansing, Michigan, news station WLNS that he wrote the personal statement of his Stanford Law School application about Michigan State beating Stanford in the 2014 Rose Bowl. “I’m very fortunate I got to spend the time with them that I did”.
