Having recently spent some time with it, we think the QX30 is a very clever model for Infiniti. Boasting a “purposeful appearance that makes a bold visual statement” is one thing, practicality and utility are what most crossover buyers are looking for. The exterior is characterized by dramatic curves and turbulent, sculpted character lines. A panoramic moonroof and roof rails are also offered.

One step up is the QX30 Sport, which includes cosmetic updates like a gloss black grille, a 0.6-inch lower ride height, and unique front and rear lower fascias. Details include unique front and rear lower fascias, extended overfenders, black mold-in color side sills, roof rails, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and a higher ride height.

Inside, the QX30 challenges traditional standards of symmetry with its expressive, modern and dynamic interior.

The base model is front-wheel-drive. QX30 Luxury and Premium grades offer Nappa leather-appointed seating.

Additional navigation and connectivity systems are available, along with a Bose 10-speaker stereo and HD radio. For the convenience of passengers, the infotainment system uses a large 7-inch touchscreen display and has two USB ports to transfer media files.

The 2017 Infiniti QX30 is more than just a pretty face.

A 208-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is fitted to all models.

The QX30 Luxury AWD and QX30 Premium AWD models come equipped with Infiniti’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system.

Urban drivers will need the suite of available active safety and hazard avoidance technologies.

The $29,950 basic price doesn’t include the destination, but it’s easier to compare it with the rivals that way. The QX30 will park itself smoothly in parallel or reverse-in parking spots**. Even if you consider it to be just a hatchback, it’s still way cheaper than any compact German sedan in the premium segment, as majority start at over $30,000.
