Moyes: New boss can’t wait to get started
England’s new manager Sam Allardyce is pleased to make the step up to global football as he no longer felt challenged in the Premier League.

David Moyes sized up his Sunderland side for the first time after being appointed as the club’s new manager as they took on Rotherham United.
In a break from previous lengthy deals for managers, the English Football Association only handed Allardyce an initial two-year contract through the 2018 World Cup after securing his release from Premier League club Sunderland.
The former Newcastle United and West Ham United boss said, as quoted by the Shields Gazette: “I have to thank everybody at Sunderland for that opportunity, because that’s the opportunity that came along at the time”.
And he believes Allardyce’s mentality is the right one to take England forward, and he remains hopeful he can play a part for the Three Lions under the ex-Sunderland boss.
He also went on to discuss his management style: “I think that choosing styles or systems depends on the players available and then who we’re playing”.
“Everyone thinks I play one style – it’s a tag I can’t shake but I played with Jermain Defoe up front on his own last season at 5ft 10”.
Moyes said: “I need to get to know the players as quickly as I can really”.
“So as the pinnacle of my career, which this job is, I want to enjoy this the most”.
“This is a different level, this is a different challenge and so I am challenging myself to be able to meet that challenge to help England get to a tournament and do better than they’ve done before”.
Sam Allardyce sounded confident about his job, “I wouldn’t suggest we are at rock bottom”.
“I think five Premier League clubs has given me a huge amount of experience. I think I can create a good environment”, the former defender said. “Players should keep that, they should hold it and use it as a positive, say “we don’t want to experience that again”, he said in an interview with FATV.
“Sammy is joining me for the second time which is pleasing because we had a great time at Bolton and I’m going to rely on his global experience”, he said.
“I can turn things around pretty quickly and get amongst teams to try to create a successful journey and a successful journey starts with all of us pulling together”.

“He will probably bring a different way of playing to England and hopefully it’s a good way and we can be successful under him”.
