Instagram rolls out Snapchat-like ‘Stories’
Yes, basically it is the same as Snapchat Stories but if you use Instagram more, then this should be a good feature for you to have. Users can type or draw on the images. Moving backward and forward through a story can be performed with a tap. Like Snapchat, if you follow someone on Instagram, you’ll be able to see all the posts from that person in their story.

Stories is now available in the latest Instagram update on iOS and Android, and is rolling out globally.
The Facebook-owned app has more than 500 million monthly active users, compared to a total 150 million for Snapchat.
Facebook tried to make its own ephemeral messaging service in the past, for one, back in 2012.
“It has the same name as Snapchat’s stories, and it seems to be a direct copying of what someone else has done”, noted Jan Dawson, chief analyst at Jackdaw Research.
In an interview with US-based tech website TechCrunch, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom admitted that the idea of Stories was copied from its competitor and said that they “deserved all the credit”. Users will know when an account has an update by viewing a colorful ring around the profile picture.
It may take some time to see whether Instagram Stories will be a hit.
Instagram is about to get even more creative.
Adding in content that disappears can help Instagram tackle that problem. A certain part of the story can be set to be featured on the user’s profile.
“Instagram has always been a place to share the moments you want to remember”. If you want to react or say something, you can send them a private message. Now you can share your highlights and everything in between, too.
The photos and stories will disappear after 24 hours and won’t appear anywhere on your profile or feed. You can also specify people you don’t want to see your story, to make backstabbing even easier! This will take you to a full-screen camera view-with both selfie and regular camera capabilities-where you can snap a photo or record a quick video.

Stories meets a need for Instagram users, said Jackdaw’s Dawson.
