Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” Reaches A Major Milestone
The only other album to go platinum this year was Taylor Swift’s “1989” which was released in 2014.

If you’re reading this, Drake’s latest album has gone platinum. The record has so far sold a total of 1.007 million copies. In just under six months, his mixtape-as-album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late crossed the one million copy sales threshold, making it the first 2015 album release to do so.
Canadian hip-hop superstar Drake has earned himself another platinum plaque. Who was the first?
The surprise record, which immediately went gold following its release last February, passes the one million sales mark in the U.S. after adding another 8,000 in the week ending on August 7.

Rapper Meek Mill last month accused Drake of not writing his own lyrics, leading Drake to hit back with two diss tracks. Drake had previously announced that he would release his studio album, Views From The 6 this year too, but there’s been no word on a release date. Nothing Was The Same and Thank Me Later sold at least 1 million and Take Care has reached more than 2 million units sold.
