Actor Jared Leto plays the role of the Joker in this month’s Suicide Squad, and he has a lot of praise for the man who played the role before him.

So he assembled a crack-team of actors and started making one of his movies, albeit with a PG-13 instead of an R-rating, to tell the origin story of why some of the deadliest meta-humans ended up working for the USA government.
And yet, critics have largely panned the film, citing writer and director, David Ayer’s choppy direction and storytelling. But that’s because I haven’t seen the movie yet.
Following fan speculation, it has already been confirmed that The Flash will be in Suicide Squad. Warner Brothers ought to have pulled the reins back on how much they put Joker front and center, given he’s more a peripheral character. Mick La Salle of SFGate began his review with: “If you know someone you really can’t stand-not someone you dislike, not someone who rubs you the wrong way, but someone you really loathe and detest-send that person a ticket for Suicide Squad”. Now, players can fight as Jared Leto’s tattooed and blinged-out Joker, or Margot Robbie’s T-shirt- and short-shorts-sporting Harley Quinn.
“Suicide Squad” star Jay Hernandez admitted the criticism of the movie “sucks” but he is certain the cast have made a movie loyal to the original DC Comics.
Davis said that’s all thanks to Ayer, who as a teenager lived in South Central Los Angeles.
Those negative reviews prompted one industrious fan to mount a petition on Change.org to have the site itself – which collects reviews from professional movie critics to form a critical consensus – shut down for good.
The character has now branched out to other TV shows, video games, her own comic book series and, of course, “Suicide Squad”, one of the most buzzed about films of the summer.

The audience finds it ironic how a superhero story celebrated a genre of villains and chose the worst villain of all. “I love the movie and believe in it”, Ayer wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. It gets worse when a central threat to humanity dances around like a reject from “So You Think You Can Dance”.
