President Obama: No one’s given more than Gold Star families

U.S. President Barack Obama said Monday that the families of soldiers killed in conflicts overseas “represent the best” of the country, an allusion to the recent criticism by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump of the parents of a Muslim U.S. Army captain killed in Iraq.

“He feels like a fool”, a Republican source familiar with the situation said of Priebus.

The commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars also said Monday that Trump’s criticism of the Khan is unacceptable.

Trump advisers have spent months trying to help the political novice do just that.

More than any other major figure in the Republican establishment, Priebus worked to bring Trump into the party’s fold despite the NY businessman’s status as an outsider.

During, at times, hyperbolic remarks, Khan’s father urged Mr. Trump to read the Constitution, offering to lend the candidate his personal copy.

The burial site, marked by a star and crescent, is surrounded by flowers placed by strangers following the family’s powerful rebuke of Trump at the Democratic National Convention last Thursday. The Pakistan-born Khan told the story of his son, U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart after his death in 2004.

Trump has brushed off Democratic charges that Putin could be behind the hack in order to tip the U.S. election in his favor, claiming he’s never met the Russian leader and doesn’t maintain a relationship with him. Even longtime ally Chris Christie, the Republican New Jersey governor, said it was inappropriate to attack the Khans.

Asked Monday on MSNBC if Trump should apologize, Ghazala Khan said, “I don’t want to hear anything from him and I don’t want to say anything to him”.

“There is great unity in my campaign, perhaps greater than ever before”.

The poll also found that Trump is now viewed as less honest than Hillary Clinton, in addition to finding that she is viewed more favorably on 7 of 10 issues polled. Scott Brown told the Daily News.

In Daytona, Florida, Trump said the news media’s coverage of him was dishonest. Aides say Trump often professes to understand the risks of fueling a controversy, but he can get drawn back. We owe them and their families the utmost respect.

In directly taking on Trump, however, McCain goes much further than House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

A Republican congressional aide said there was deep frustration on Capitol Hill that Trump keeps engaging in “petty spats”. “Donald Trump consistently smears the character of Muslims”. Marco Rubio’s, have said they’re open to joint appearances with Trump.

For some of Trump’s allies, the dispute is just the latest example of a troubling pattern: The real estate mogul hitting back at perceived slights or insults, regardless of the political implications.
