Humbled Gordon grateful for another chance with Browns

I’ve made the case that wide receiver Josh Gordon would be an automatic starter for this Browns team if he could be merely half the player he was in 2013 when he led the National Football League in receiving yards and became an All-Pro selection. Ogbah was the No. 32 overall pick in this year’s draft. Disciplinary issues have cost Gordon 29 of 64 regular-season games since he entered the NFL. “But the point has definitely got across to me, clear as day”, Gordon said. Gordon has still been getting suspended and is now hanging out with Manziel.

And one NFL Insider believes Gordon has chance of ending up in Philadelphia.

The obvious end-game here is the hope a quarterback-whisperer like Jackson can get Griffin back on track and the former Heisman Trophy victor and Rookie of the Year can catch lightning in a bottle and become a capable National Football League starter again.

Gordon indicated he has remorse from only thinking about himself in the past, but that will change in 2016.

After serving his suspension, Brady is eligible to return to the field on October 9, when the Browns host the Patriots.

“I don’t worry about things that I can’t control”.

The Browns should also know. But as you acknowledged, ultimately, your future is your responsibility. Like I said, the league has said what their expectations are. He will be suspended for the first four games of the 2016-17 season, but he’s allowed to join the team in its upcoming training camp and can participate in meetings and conditioning work.

After making several catches, the Browns’ wide receivers, running backs and tight ends committed several fumbles, many of which were recovered by the defense and returned for touchdowns. He acknowledged prior mistakes and admitted to not listening to others. “I wish I could take it back”. That means Gordon will only play in four games before the deadline, which is not enough time to evaluate his entire potential. Ever since then he hasn’t been able to stay out of trouble.

Josh Gordon stood in front of the media on July 28 and, as he has at least three other times in his career with the Browns, said he has learned his lesson and this time things will be different. “This is a kid’s game and we get to play for a king’s ransom. He went outside the norm in this case”.

Head Coach Hue Jackson acknowledged he watched game film on Gordon once he learned he would be reinstated and joining the team. And if this “rehabilitate not punish” approach to Gordon’s situation yields Gordon being a productive member of the Browns on and off the field, it could prove to be a template for how Goodell approaches structuring discipline for players in similar situations going forward. Before that he was kicked out of Baylor for testing positive for marijuana.

“Of course, he’s facing considerable competition with (Paul) Kruger, (Barkevious) Mingo, (nate) Orchard and fellow rookie (Joe) Schobert when it comes to what kind of playing time he’ll see and, perhaps more importantly, when he sees it”.
