Blunt, Kander Move on to November
“Missourians deserve to hear from us directly on the issues that matter, and hopefully one of those issues will be ending unlimited dark money spending”.

Blunt, who is not a veteran, spent Wednesday on a bus tour talking to voters about getting more jobs in Missouri. A grand jury and the U.S. Department of Justice found no evidence of wrongdoing by the officer, who resigned in November 2014. Blunt is seeking his second Senate term.
“I remember how much I anxious about my son Matt during his years of active duty”.
Republican U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt (left) is running for re-election against Democratic Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander in the general election in November 2016.
Three recent polls have shown Kander trailing Blunt by 3 to 7 points – and Team Blunt is hoping to paint Kander as untrustworthy to help widen the gap.
Roy Blunt is the latest member of Congress to speak about the treatment of a fallen soldier’s parents by his party’s presidential nominee.
“Whether you’ve served or not, how can anyone’s heart be so devoid of love that they’d slander a gold star mom?” wrote Kander, who served as a military intelligence officer in Afghanistan. Even as Republicans all over the nation condemned the remarks, however, our junior senator opted for the most milktoasty expression imaginable – choosing to offer polite advice to Trump rather than the sort of outright condemnation that was de rigueur from coast to coast.
He said his campaign would be in touch with Blunt’s campaign soon to begin negotiations.
“Offering Donald Trump political advice is not the same thing as rebuking his disgusting comments about a war hero’s family”, Hayden said.
Blunt weighed in Monday while in Columbia concerning statements made by Republican Donald Trump about the parents of Capt. Humayun Khan. Khizr Khan said Trump’s proposals would have barred his son from immigrating to the United States because they are Muslims. He said Trump had sacrificed “nothing and no one” for his country.
