Ravens 3rd-rounder Kaufusi breaks ankle, likely out for year
The injury to Kaufusi does create an opportunity for Kapron Lewis-Moore to make one final impression on the team.

The injury happened during a passing play where Kaufusi was engaged in a block with an offensive lineman.
“You try to avoid that”, Harbaugh said.
The head coach confirmed the injury to reporters after practice and said his season is probably over before it begins.
Kaufusi was carted off the field during practice, unable to put significant weight on his leg, after a teammate collapsed on his ankle.
Kaufusi was drafted in third round out of BYU, despite being projected to be drafted higher.
Kaufusi, 25, was a three-year starter at BYU and finished his career with 26.5 sacks, the fifth-most in program history.
Call this a redshirt season if you will for Kaufusi. You have to look at it that way. “It’s an opportunity for him to take the next year and go to work on his body and go to work on becoming a mature NFL football player physically”. His lower body could use some strengthening and flexibility. He was playing well, but he’s only going to be better next year. “We’ll get him with our coaches, and he’ll be a much better player a year from now than he would have been this year”.
The Ravens traded for Davis three weeks into last season.
Philadelphia Eagles veteran left tackle Jason Peters and safety Malcolm Jenkins suffered injuries during Thursday’s practice.

Rookie running back Kenneth Dixon was in uniform Thursday but did not take part in any contact drills. The Ravens have been alternating them with the starting defense in training camp.
